The Second Edition of Luxury Forum Takes Place in Abidjan, Ivory Coast; Emerging Talents Scoop Prestigious Awards

Maison de Communication Digital Society successfully held its second edition of the Luxury Forum in the Ivory Coast’s economic capital, Abidjan, from November 23 to 25, 2022.

The colorful event, dedicated to Luxury in French-speaking Africa themed “Luxury challenges in Africa: paradigms, gateways, and opportunities for global brands?” was approached from several angles, including the challenges of e-commerce in the sector, the opportunities of luxury real estate, the challenges of Corporate Social Responsibility by some twenty African and European speakers, was termed a big breakthrough by both participants and sponsors alike.

Apart from bringing together more than 300 professionals drawn from various fields including those from the academia, digital and the arts fields highlighted their different contributions to the continent through conferences, the event saw various prizes awarded to emerging talents in the Luxury Industry in Africa.

The awards won included the prize for the most beautiful brand that was awarded to Suki Suki, the prize for digital innovation to BalmLabs, The Prize for retail innovation to the Ivoire Trade Center (PFO Immobilier), The Prize for the most beautiful campaign of communication at Maison Mandjou.

The 2022 edition provided platforms, through its five conferences, to address diverse topics such as e-commerce, contemporary design, and the design of a responsible brand in 2023.

While appreciating the great personalities and participants, the organizers reiterated that the second edition of this great initiative came after a successful first edition that took place in 2021.

In one of the conferences moderated by Nelly Wandji, an expert in luxury and selective distribution, founder and director of Moonlook, various seasoned professionals shared their insights on the topic making it one of the most interactive sessions. The experts included Marc-Arthur Gaulithy, teacher and researcher at the Skema business school in Lille, Marion Willems, Director of the Morebelli boutique, and Linda Gieskes- Mwamba, Founder of Suki Suki Naturals.

Another conference moderated by Lewis Pagoriwan shone a light on the future of luxury brands in a globalized and connected world. The panel included industry players such as Bruno Meira Social media Influence manager Lanvin, Irene Astete 3D expert Balenciaga and Babao Tachi Menson of Balmlabs.

The Luxury Forum 2022 edition took place thanks to partners who sponsored it including PFO Immobilier, Ruinart, Hennessy, Nespresso, and JCDecaux among others.
