AfCFTA’s creation to set Africa as “global economic power par excellence”

The Algeria’s Minister of Trade Said Djellab said on Tuesday that the importance of the African Continent Free Trade Agreement, commonly known as AfCFTA, in achieving the continent’s integration and the exploitation of all human and natural resources will likely set Africa as “a global economic power par excellence”.

While chairing a round-table meeting in Dakar, Senegal, on the sidelines of an African Forum on the implementation of AfCFTA, Djellab presented an outline of the state of business and investment climate back in his country, Algeria, underscoring the need and importance of opening and intensifying business meetings to establish “a real partnership on the ground and exploit a market of some 1.2 billion consumers in Africa.

The meeting which brought together several African businessmen and large companies across Africa, saw Djellab highlighting Algeria’s pivotal role as a “safe gate” not only to but from Africa as well. The minister also talked about the Algeria’s industrial, agricultural and commercial diversity and progress carried out the country’s skilled population.
