Energy Capital & Power (ECP) Targets 5,000+ Delegates for 2022 Event Calendar

Energy Capital & Power is capitalizing on its successful 2021 event calendar by ensuring increased delegate numbers for its 2022 calendar line-up, with a focus on international and regional delegates

Tapping into the ECP global and pan-African network of energy professionals, together with over 100,000 online audience participants, Cape Town-based energy events organizer, Energy Capital & Power (ECP) (EnergyCapitalPower.com) continues to connect investors, industry leaders, both public and private sector decision-makers and government across the entire energy value chain.

In 2021, just over 5,000 energy professionals participated in ECP events across key energy events in the MSGBC Basin, South Sudan, and Angola. For 2022, ECP is seeking to expand on delegate numbers and further engage energy specialists across the globe, with a view to accelerate investment in Africa’s energy space.

Last year, ECP hosted the first-ever MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power Conference & Exhibition, under the patronage of Senegalese President H.E. Macky Sall. In addition to featuring robust participation from the wider region – with keynote addresses delivered by H.E. Aissatou Sophie Gladima, Senegal’s Minister of Petroleum and Energy; H.E. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Ghana’s Minister of Energy; and H.E. Gabriel Mbaga Obiang Lima, Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons – the inaugural event sparked additional interest from global and pan-African organization heads, including OPEC Secretary-General Mohammad Sanusi Barkindo and APPO Secretary-General Omar Farouk Ibrahim. This year, the second edition of the MSGBC Oil, Gas & Power Conference & Exhibition (bit.ly/3l1yF0b) (September 1-2, 2022) will continue to host energy authorities with a renewed regional focus, including H.E. Abdessalam Ould Mohamed Saleh, Mauritania’s Minister of Petroleum, Mines and Energy; H.E. Orlando Viegas, Guinea-Bissau’s Minister of Natural Resources and Energy and, H.E. Fafa Sanyang, The Gambia’s Minister of Petroleum and Energy.

South Sudan

Piloting a hybrid attendance format, the fourth edition of the South Sudan Oil & Power (SSOP) Conference in 2021 was able to uniquely host international speakers and delegates online alongside the local in-person event in Juba. South Sudan’s leading oil companies participated in the event, including Dar Petroleum Operating Company (DPOC) and Greater Pioneer Operating Company (GPOC), along with pan-African banking institutions such as Stanbic Bank and the African Export-Import Bank who expanded upon the theme, “#BuildtheNation: Capital raising and innovative financing to build critical energy and infrastructure projects.” This year, SSOP 2022 (bit.ly/3N56Sbm) (September 13-14) will host a larger audience of global and South Sudanese energy leaders than ever before. In addition to the two-day SSOP conference, ECP will also host a series of additional events throughout the corresponding SSOP itinerary days, under the South Sudan Investment Week campaign, connecting investors and project leaders from all sectors. Confirmed speakers for SSOP 2022 include: Godfrey Moagi, CEO of South Africa’s Strategic Fuel Fund; Sara Vakhshouri, Founder and President of SVB Energy- a strategic energy consulting firm with offices in Washington D.C. and Dubai and, Bruno Bernal, CEO of EOSOL, a Spanish group of service companies, amongst other leading firms serving to connect South Sudan with global capital, technology and advanced skills.

Angola

The first-ever edition of the Angola Oil & Gas (AOG) Conference & Exhibition saw more than 1,700 delegates, 67 speakers and nearly 50 exhibitors last year. With Angola serving as the second-largest oil producer in sub-Saharan Africa, the three-day event saw active participation from leading majors and IOCs, with keynote addresses by Patrick Pouyanné, Chairperson and CEO of TotalEnergies; Pam Darwin, (then) Vice President of ExxonMobil, and Derek Magness, (then) Managing Director of Chevron Southern Africa. For 2022, Angola’s ultimate energy event is back in full-force under the auspices of the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, H.E. Diamantino Pedro Azevedo, and in partnership with the National Agency of Oil, Gas and Biofuels and the African Energy Chamber. AOG 2022 (bit.ly/3syA9mT) will run from November 29 to December 1 and is set to ensure an impactful line-up of international energy experts promoting the wide spectrum of opportunities present in Angola.
