Emma Theofilus Namibia’s 23 year old Member of Parliament

At the age of 23, Namibia’s Emma Theofilus has been appointed Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Technology in her country.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law (with distinction) from the University of Namibia and a degree in African feminism and gender studies from the University of South Africa.

Emma Theofilus has also been appointed a member of the National Assembly, among the eight members that the Namibian president is authorized to appoint. In addition to being Africa’s youngest minister, Emma Theofilus also became Namibia’s youngest MP.
