The Civil Society Organization on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative (CSCHEI) has appointed Dr. Sylvester Okere, a distinguished Nigerian diaspora leader in the United States, to spearhead its diaspora engagement initiatives in North and South America.
Dr. Okere, a Certified Institutional Protection Manager (CIPM) and a recognized figure in the African diaspora community in the United States brings a wealth of experience and a passion for community development and serving the African diaspora in the United States to his new role. With a background in leadership roles in various international platforms such as the Strategic Groups USA LLC, a private security and detective firm he founded, and the United People for African Congress (UPAC), Dr. Okere is well-positioned to strengthen the ties between CSCHEI and the vibrant African diaspora in the United States. During his days as the President of UPAC, he actively advocated for the rights of the African diaspora living across the United States.
In an official statement, CSCHEI emphasized the crucial role of the diaspora in driving its sustainable development and humanitarian efforts in Africa. The organization expressed confidence in Dr. Okere’s leadership, having been at the helm of other reputable organizations before his appointment, noting that he will be pivotal in fostering collaboration, mobilizing resources, and leveraging the diverse skills and talents within the African diaspora to benefit communities in need from across the United States.
