Clashes between Shiite protesters and #police killed eight people on Monday, including a #journalist who succumbed to his injuries.
At least six members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), a radical Shiite organization, and a police officer were also killed.
Precious Owolabi, a 23-year-old journalist, received a bullet while covering the clashes in #Abuja.
The #Committee to Protect Journalists called on the authorities to open an investigation to determine who was responsible for his death.
As a reminder, Shiite militants are demonstrating to demand the release of their leader, Ibrahim Zakzaky, imprisoned since December 2015.
