AFRIMA President Mike Dada to Speak at BridgeAfric Launch in Malawi

In a significant move to elevate African artists and connect them with global audiences, Mike Dada, President and Executive Producer of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), is set to share insights at the BridgeAfric Southern Africa launch in Malawi on March 23, 2024. BridgeAfric, led by Victoria Nkong, is a groundbreaking initiative designed to foster connections among African artists and industry professionals across the continent, promoting collaboration within the African music community.

Emphasizing the importance of unity in the music industry, Dada will discuss the potential for growth and success through collaboration among artists, producers, and stakeholders. He praised BridgeAfric for its role in linking Malawian artists with industry professionals, aiding in career development and broader audience reach. Dada is committed to supporting platforms like BridgeAfric that enhance African music’s diversity and richness, believing in the power of collective effort to create a dynamic and inclusive music industry.

Highlighting the event’s significance, Dada pointed out the opportunities for the Malawi music industry to connect with global movements, urging more Malawian artists to participate in AFRIMA. “AFRIMA is for Africans, including Malawi. Participation in AFRIMA is a right for Malawian artists, who we encourage to submit their work and showcase their talent to the world,” Dada stated.

“BridgeAfric aims to provide a platform for emerging artists in Malawi to showcase their talent and connect with industry professionals.”

Victoria Nkong, President of BridgeAfric, expressed excitement about Dada’s participation, noting the impact his expertise and insights could have on the music industry in Malawi. The launch event, set to take place at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) Banquet Hall in Lilongwe, is expected to draw corporate executives, African artists, entertainment stakeholders, and media from Africa and beyond.

The BridgeAfric launch will also feature a talent workshop focused on Collaboration, Investments, & Talent Development, offering Malawian artists a platform to engage with African music legends. Notable Malawian acts like Nyau King Tay Grin, Phyzix, Che Kalonda, and Lulu are among the headliners for this pivotal event.

The event promises to be a congregation of music industry luminaries, including Trace Representatives, a representative from Live Nation in France, ace video directors, 50 Cent’s producer, and numerous music business executives and international artists from across Africa.

Taps Bandawe, a veteran music producer and entrepreneur, will join the roster of speakers, with award-winning TV personality Priscilla Kayira Nsane moderating the event, and DJ Neptune providing the music. This launch marks a transformative moment for the Malawian music scene, setting the stage for a more collaborative and prosperous African music industry.
