What signs of Nubian culture exist today?

In ancient times, Nubia was rich in gold, ivory, copper, and other minerals.  The riches were famous in the Nubian kingdoms, which had a relationship with Egypt. Two significant regions were vital in defining Nubia culture, present-day Sudan. These are the areas along the river Nile from Aswan to Khartoum. Even with Nubia’s old history, still today, you can trace the signs of Nubian culture.

First, there are some sites in Egypt that still hub Nubian Cemeteries evidence.  They are sites located in the north of the First Cataract in Egypt that has antique Nubian cemeteries.  Besides cemeteries, you will find Nubian-style objects in some of the Egyptian settlements and burial sites. Notable areas in Egypt include Delta, oases, red sea coast, Elephantine, and more. The presence of the prolific pots in some parts of Egypt signifies that the Nubian culture exists today. These prolific pots are present in sites such as Tell Edlfu, Elephantine. The Egyptians, as well as Nubians, popularly used them.

Thirdly, some Nubian furniture is rubbed in the museum today. The Brooklyn Museum has a comprehensive collection of many Nubian objects that provide a gist of Nubian culture. A good example is with the Lion shaped furniture leg. In both Egypt and Nubia, the lion was a symbol of the sun, gold, and royalty. The good news is that many other museums in different parts of the world today have pictures, furniture, artefacts, and Nubian culture.

The presence of a distinctive Nubian style of clothing, more so among Nubian women, signifies that the Nubian culture still exists today. The Nubians wore clothes that represented their traditional culture and spirit of the land. The clothing comprises unique colors and patterns, which is also present in many of their handmade objects, such as pots. Many people put on Nubian-style dress today.
