Africa Global News was among the recipients honoured at Gulf Business Awards Season 6, a gala held in Dubai on Saturday, October 10, and proudly sponsored by the DemiLune Group.
The ceremony that took place at the Paramount Hotel in Business Bay recognised companies, professionals and media organisations from across the GCC region.
The recognition placed Africa Global News among a cross-section of honourees spanning technology, marketing, law, finance, fashion and media. Gulf Korean Times, DemiLune group’s media partner from Korea, and Dubai Drift Magazine made it as well to the awards list.
Sheikh Dr Mohammed Bin Suroor Al Sharqi, a member of the Fujairah royal family, graced the auspicious occasion as the Chief Guest. Other guests of honour included Dr Omaima, Dr Riyadh, Dr Hamdan, H.E. Vacaba Diaby, Omar Almarzooqi and Dr Saleh Balhaj. The Chairwoman of the DemiLune Group, Dr Moon Mukerjee, presided over the ceremony, with Dr Amina Konate as host and Maria Natalia as the event’s official Emcee.
Gopal Sudhakaran took Best Marketing and Sales, Nexus Technology Solutions won Best Technology Solution and Dania Kazan was named Best Legal Consultant. Ajaypal Somvanshi received the award for Excellence in Global Financial Leadership, while Mohamed Naushard Faiz was honoured as Best Events Director.
In fashion and beauty, Desired & Rare and Fozia Designs shared Best Fashion Designer, Nsamar took Best Design House, Bedazzled won Best Makeup and Hair Services, Aftags by Dr Hanadi was named Best Concept Store, and Naturally No 1 by Dr Mona Hussen Ali won Best Cosmetic Brand.
Additionally, Sabitha Zawariya was recognised for Excellence in School of Fashion and Beauty. Younger talent and start-ups were also in the spotlight. Neha Singh was named Best Upcoming Female Model, Amjath Best Upcoming Model, Nora Best Upcoming Athlete and Summair Best Upcoming General Trading Company. Aryan Chandekar received the Young Eco Warrior award.
Apart from the awards, guests were treated to amazing performances from, among others, the famous child artist Ameera and Lebanese singer Lara Nassar during the colourful evening. Netra Jain gave a talk on the Dubai real estate market, producer and actor Bassam Kadhiyar also took the stage, and Deji shared guidance on using social media marketing tools effectively.
The night closed with a VIP networking reception supported by sponsors Nikon, Grand Store, Dr Joelle, Emire Lux and Dar Al Zain Agarwood.
