Small businesses will no longer have to choose between operating costs and high-volume, high-quality color printing.
Canon (www.Canon-CNA.com) announces the arrival of a new model in its range of MAXIFY GX printers: the MAXIFY GX5040. Designed to fit ideally into small to medium workspaces, the single-function Maxify GX5040 printer is the third MAXIFY GX model, and now the most compact, to use refillable MegaTank technology. Offering an improved security system, with great autonomy and speed of printing, the MAXIFY GX5040 saves time on a daily basis, reduces operating costs and energy consumption.
High print quality, low running cost
Small businesses no longer have to choose between operating costs and high-volume, high-quality color printing. Ideal for making presentation leaflets or marketing materials, the MAXIFY GX5040 can print up to 14,000 pages[i] from a single full set of durable bottles of all pigment inks. It thus produces long-lasting business documents that are resistant to water and markers. Additionally, its built-in Economy mode boosts yield by 1.5 times over Standard print mode to produce up to approximately 21,000 pages[ii] from a full set of ink bottles, ensuring thus a very large print volume.
High-volume, high-speed printing is also assured with the MAXIFY GX5040, whose print speed reaches approximately 24 ipm in black and 15.5 ipm in color with a first output obtained in just 7 seconds [iii] in printing monochrome. The MAXIFY GX5040 is therefore ideal for ensuring the high responsiveness needed to print instantly in customer reception departments or small clinics. Significantly reducing outsourcing costs, the MAXIFY GX5040 can also print on various media such as envelopes, decorative signs for store windows, banners up to 1.20 m long (plain paper only), transfers iron-ons for fabric, magnetic sheets: it is an ideal versatility, thus meeting multiple printing needs with a single device.
More action, less interruption
With minimal daily maintenance, the MAXIFY GX5040 is fundamentally designed for productivity. Its large capacity ink tanks allow less frequent refills, less recurrent ink orders and therefore less time spent on these tasks related to the renewal of consumables. The easy-to-use ink refill bottles have been designed with specific filling nozzles according to the color of ink they contain and therefore only the corresponding tank can be refilled without risk of error and without overflowing. ‘ink. Ink levels can be checked at a glance using the tank fill window on the front of the printer. The risk of an unexpected lack of ink is therefore no longer relevant.
The MAXIFY GX5040’s large paper-loading capacity is split between a 100-sheet rear input tray and a 250-sheet front cassette, which contributes to increased autonomy and reduced frequency of refills. sheets of paper. The printer is therefore always ready to print large quantities of documents without the interruptions necessary to reload it regularly. As with checking ink levels, the amount of paper can also be easily checked with a simple glance at a small window integrated into the front of the front cassette. Also in order to avoid handling and production interruptions, the maintenance cartridge is easily replaceable by the user, without the need for the intervention of a maintenance technician.
The user of a MAXIFY GX5040 can connect it to a desktop computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone, the latter allowing quick and easy printing via the Canon PRINT app for iOS and Android, or from platforms like AirPrint® and Mopria®. For added convenience and security, a management administrator can restrict printer functions to prevent unauthorized access and operations and to enhance the way the enterprise is secured by the via WPA2-EAP authentication [iv].
Plastic and energy savings
The principle of bottled inks for refilling the printer’s large capacity tanks avoids the frequent replacement of small ink cartridges. High-quality automatic two-sided printing, with the same density as single-sided printing, also means the MAXIFY GX5040 saves paper. Eco-type settings such as automatic power-off modes allow the printer to be scheduled to operate only during working hours.
The single-function MAXIFY GX5040 printer joins the GX6050 (Print, Copy, Scan with ADF) and GX7050 (Print, Copy, Scan, Fax with ADF) MegaTank models in the MAXIFY GX line. Launched in 2021, these two models were put on the market to meet the wishes of companies in need of enduring, modular printing solutions with reduced operating costs.
Suhaib Hussain, Product Manager for Professional Printers and Software at Canon Europe stated: “The MAXIFY GX5040 joins our MAXIFY GX printer line with a remarkable new model. This MAXIFY GX range streamlines print workflows for small businesses by enabling teams to perform day-to-day tasks more efficiently, saving time, and reducing operating costs.
