The meeting takes place in response to the Chamber’s request to meet with the President to discuss a number of identified challenges that are impacting the business community in the province.
The meeting has been requested through the Office of the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Mr Sihle Zikalala, and follows a meeting between the Premier and the Mayor of eThekwini and the KZN Growth Coalition and the Durban Chamber of Commerce on 29 April 2022.
Today’s meeting is a platform for collaboration among the three spheres of government and the private sector to develop a plan of action
Today’s meeting is a platform for collaboration among the three spheres of government and the private sector to develop a plan of action which will enable the KwaZulu-Natal business sector to recover from events that have adversely affected the provincial economy.
The Ministers of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs; Water and Sanitation; Safety and Security; Public Enterprises; Environmental Affairs; Public Works and Infrastructure; Transport and the Deputy Ministers of Police and Justice are part of the meeting to engage the business leaders on issues of concern to them.
President Ramaphosa will deliver closing remarks around 11h10. These remarks will be streamed on PresidencyZA, Facebook:KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government and government online channels
