There are no survivors following the crash of Ethiopian Airlines’ Flight 302, the airline has confirmed.
ET 302 had 157 people on board, 8 crew and 149 passengers. The people were from 33 countries.
The latest statement from Ethiopian Airlines, whose flight ET 302 crashed shortly after takeoff.
The flight took off from Bole International Airport at 08:38 AM local time, heading south towards Nairob, Kenya. However, it lost contact six minutes later at 08:44 AM. The crash occured near the town of Bishoftu, some 60 km to the southeast of the capital, Addis Ababa.
The plane involved in the accident was a Boeing 737 Max 8, the same model as Indonesia’s Lion Air Flight JT610. Like ET 302, flight JT610 crashed minutes after takeoff, 12 minutes to be exact. JT610 plunged into the Java Sea, claiming 189 lives on that October 29 2018 accident.
