NBA playoffs 2019: Antetokounmpo and Iguodala in final of conference
In these NBA playoffs 2018/2019, some are resting, and some others are still struggling. While the Bucks of Greek Nigerian forward Giannis Antetokounmpo are patiently waiting for the name of their next adversary, same story for American shooting guard Andre Iguodala, Nigerian roots, with Golden State, some other teams are about to play a last and decisive game, the famous game 7, that will tell whether they will participate to the finals of conference in a couple of days: Portland, Denver, Toronto and the Philadelphia Sixers stand in this position right now.
The Milwaukee Bucks eliminated the Boston Celtics 4-1 quite easily this week (116-91 on the last game). After an opening game lost in Milwaukee, the Bucks redeemed and won the four next games, well helped by the awkwardness of the C’s, symbolized by All-Star Kyrie Irving who was supposed to lead the Massachusetts franchise towards a ring Boston last won in 2008. Without Pau Gasol, injured, but with the Greek Freak, Mirotic, Lopez, Bledsoe, Middleton and Brogdon who returns after an injury, the Wisconsin franchise has the weapons to go further.
In the West, the Warriors kicked out the Houston Rockets in the night of yesterday after a last win 118-113 in Texas (Golden State wins the series 4-2). The Rockets, who spent the last years falling against Golden State in playoffs, witnessed Steph Curry and Klay Thompson put an end to their dream of champion after a tight game whose decision came in the fourth quarter, where the Warriors scored several three-point shots to take a comfortable advance. If Chris Paul and James Harden will have to wait again before getting a chance to grab that ring, it is just a simple habit for the San Francisco franchise, that was playing without Kevin Durant for the occasion, while DeMarcus Cousins is expected to come back soon.
The Californians will play against Denver or Portland (3-3) who have to dispute a game 7 tonight in Colorado. Nigerian Trail Blazer Al-Farouq Aminu should be in the starting lineup.
In the East, the Sixers of Cameroonian center Joel Embiid are visiting the Raptors of his compatriot Pascal Siakam tonight for a game 7 too. Philadelphia or Toronto will then challenge Milwaukee.
