The 4 day training camp, organised by the NBA and FIBA is a basketball development and community outreach program that unites young basketball players to promote the sport and encourage positive social change in the areas of education, health, and wellness.

The two bodies have had 59 BWB camps in thirty-eight cities in thirty countries spread across six continents. The BWB camps have hosted at least 3,500 participants from more than 129 countries and territories.

In 2010, the National Basketball Association opened its head offices in Johannesburg, South Africa, a move that was seen as continuing its long history which it has shared with Africa. This year alone, NBA is planning to reach at least 2.5 million boys and girls aged 16 years and below through its Jn. NBA Programs in at least 21 African countries.

Basketball is a sport that is widely followed across the world. This year’s 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup is set to take place in china and five countries will represent Africa.
