Liverpool and Mané on top of Europe

This time, the Reds got it. Liverpool won the Champions’ League last night over Tottenham (2-0), the first European trophy for Sadio Mané (Senegal), Mohamed Salah (Egypt), Joël Matip (Cameroon) and Naby Keïta (Guinea).

If the latter did not play (injury), Mané, Salah and Matip started the game at Wanda Metropolitano, Madrid, where the Colchoneros of Antoine Griezmann are used to playing in the Spanish league. The first goal came in the first minute for Liverpool after a penalty obtained by Mané whose attempt touched Sissoko’s arm in Tottenham’s box. Salah transformed it before Hugo Lloris in a game that was mostly highlighted by a few technical mistakes and less intensity and spectacle that what we used to witness in this Champions’ League 2018/2019.

Divock Origi scored in the end of the game (87’) while Alisson Becker made many decisive stops before Son, Rose and Kane. It is the first Champions’ League trophy for German coach Jürgen Klopp after the episodes of 2013 (defeat 1-2 against Munich with Dortmund) and 2018 (defeat 1-3 against Real Madrid).

A few days before the CAN 2019, starting June 21st, it is a good way to get confidence for Sadio Mané, who will lead the Lions in Egypt.
