He has made a career in the world of media and journalism since 1973 as a journalist,director, scheduler, presenter, and producer for radio, television and the written press. Bigot was appointed as the new CEO and President of TV5 MONDE back in December 2012. His previous post was as the Managing Director of RTL France. Showcasing a selection of the best films, dramas, world news, sports, lifestyle programming and much more, TV5 MONDE is the world leader in News and Entertainment TV in French.

As the new president of TV5Monde what changes are you looking to make to improve the network?
Well basically the first thing is for us to stress who we are. Our DNA is to be a culture channel that broadcasts the best of the french speaking programs and public service television from France, Belgium, Switzerland, Quebec and the State of Canada. We also include all African french speaking countries that we are associated with through the international organization of the french speaking countries, which are 77 countries through out the world. This allows us to be broadcasted in the whole of the United Nations, because we are the largest TV Channel that represents the most countries.
What advise can you give to growing news and entertainment media in Africa to help them compete with the international market?
