Vlisco Launches “Blossoming Beauty”, Another Trailblazing Campaign

Vlisco has announced another trailblazing campaign dubbed “Blossoming Beauty,” launched on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

At the start of a new year, “Blossoming Beauty” celebrates life’s moments of renewal and the strength of community. It is an ode to sisterhood, individuality, and the shared journey of blooming into a new season.

Blossoming Beauty, a love letter to Togo’s creative community, was photographed by the visionary project Togo YEYE in Lomé. The city’s horizons, beaches, and vibrant flora serve as a backdrop, connecting the feminine grace of nature with identity, artistry, and a colourful new set of Vlisco prints.

Vlisco collaborated with Togo YEYE for the campaign shoot, a visionary creative project led by Malaika Nabillah and Delali Ayivi.

Since 2019, this Lomé-based community has been rewriting the narrative of Togolese imagery, creating powerful, unapologetic, and authentic visual representations of their country.

“We wanted to address the role of imagery and how important it is to create authentic narratives where Togolese people worldwide can see themselves reflected with pride,” explains Ayivi.

Every detail of the campaign reflects Togolese life at its core. From the horizon framing the city’s beaches to floral arrangements crafted by a local street florist, the imagery speaks to the essence of Lomé’s vibrant culture.

“Seeing the work of Togo’s creative community displayed on Vlisco’s billboards across West Africa is a moment of immense pride and recognition that truly speaks to the flourishing of our local talent,” says Nabillah.

Shot entirely in Lomé with local teams, “Blossoming Beauty” represents Togo YEYE’s largest production to date and seamlessly aligns with Vlisco’s creative vision.

Vlisco is known for unique printed fabrics made using tried-and-tested methods and quality materials originally derived from Indonesian wax-based Batik. Each design is embedded with imagination, storytelling, and a sense of wonder.

Vlisco, which originated in 1846, is woven into a constant cultural exchange thanks to its prints, created by international design teams in The Netherlands. These prints have become cultural treasures adopted and embraced by African women and honoured with names and meanings by the traders of West and Central Africa.

Within this world of heritage, craftsmanship, design and storytelling, Vlisco has produced works of over 350.000 unique textile designs and colour variations – designs that inspire people to dream.
