Leonardo back in PSG

Former Brazilian international football player Leonardo comes back to Paris six years after having left it. The World Cup winner (1994) signed yesterday for Paris Saint-Germain as a sporting director, a function he was already assuming from 2011 to 2013 when QSI (Qatar Sports Investments) took over the club.

The Brazilian was the sporting director of Milan AC but resigned after disagreements with his direction in a difficult context (the club did not qualify for the next Champions’ League and Italian coach Gennaro Gattuso will leave as well). Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessié, who will play the upcoming African Cup of Nations with the Elephants, was essential in the season of the Rossoneri but could not prevent this failure. His alter ego in the midfield, Tiémoué Bakayoko, is expected to go back to Chelsea.

In PSG, where many were craving for Leonardo’s comeback, the brand new director will have a lot to do. The one who replaced Portuguese Antero Henrique must find solutions for a club that is frightened as soon as the decisive rounds of the Champions’ League, the declared dream of the owners, come up.
