End of season for LeBron James

Africa Global News Publication

For the first time since 2005, LeBron James will watch the NBA playoffs on TV. The poor ranking (11th) of the Los Angeles Lakers makes it impossible for them to be part of the eight first teams in the West, an unusual situation for the one who was used to playing the Finals with Miami or Cleveland over the last few years. After an ultimate game won against the Charlotte Hornets of Congolese center Bismack Biyombo (129-115) with 27 points for James, the Lakers board decided that the 55 games played by The King this season were enough.

Injured in December and missing many games, what triggered off the fall of the Lakers who went from an encouraging fourth place to the eleventh one, James indirectly provoked this failure, even though the squad could (should) have done better without him with supposedly reliable elements like JaVale McGee (NBA champion with Golden State last year), Rajon Rondo (NBA champion with Boston in 2008), Tyson Chandler (NBA champion with Dallas in 2011), Lance Stephenson, Kyle Kuzma or Lonzo Ball.

Magic Johnson anticipated and the Lakers decided to end up James’s season since nothing was coming next, a way to make him rest too and completely recover from the injury he contracted last Christmas. With six games remaining to play and no playoffs perspective, Los Angeles will draw an assessment of a season that looks like a failure and try to attract a top player this summer. Anthony Davis?
