NBA Eastern Finals: Big Brook makes the Bucks win

The Milwaukee Bucks usually thank their forward Giannis Antetokounmpo and his daily exploits in a team that collectively makes it. This week still, the big man revealed to be center Brook Lopez, who was decisive for the first game of Eastern Finals against the Toronto Raptors of Pascal Siakam and Serge Ibaka. The Bucks won this opening confrontation 108-100 at Fiserv Forum but really took off in the last quarter (32-17).

Brook Lopez, normally expected to take rebounds and have a rigorous defense, did more than the job with 29 points scored and 4 three-point shots (far from being a habit for a center). The former player from the Lakers took 11 rebounds as well, the same number as Khris Middleton while Antetokounmpo took 14 ones and scored 24 points. Lopez’s accomplished game compensated Eric Bledsoe’s difficult night: the point guard from Milwaukee was particularly awkward (3/12 on shot) with a drastic 0/6 on three-point shots (9 points and 5 rebounds).

The Canadians, who underwent the Bucks’ law in the last minutes, were supported by Siakam (15 points), Leonard (31 points) and Lowry (30 points). Ibaka had only 4 points in a tight game that should actually be part of a tight opposition between the best teams in the East. Next game, still in Wisconsin, tonight.
