In Germany, football comes back to life

Germany may be close to France, the Netherlands and Belgium on a geographical point of view, things over there do not evolve in the same way as in those mentioned countries, particularly when it comes to sports in this worldwide crisis triggered off by the Covid-19 pandemic.

While the football season 2019/2020 should not take back its rights beyond German boundaries, unless a miracle which is still difficult to trust, the country of Länder blew the whistle for the return of the game. After the first games of last week before empty stands, another football day is planned this weekend.

Bayern Munich of German goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, for instance, is playing this Saturday against Eintracht Frankfurt. Even though such a particular atmosphere makes it hard to focus on the game, which mostly looks like a training session than a real game counting for the championship, this is at least a beginning towards something better. This being said, some fellows think that such a parody of football should not even exist. Between that and no football, they would vote for the second one…

The current situation is making some people happy though: the Hertha Berlin fans. In two games, the squad of Ivorian forward Salomon Kalou won twice and scored seven goals! Yesterday, the club took the derby against Union Berlin 4-0 after having blown up Hoffenheim 3-0 last week. If Kalou is in difficulty right now and has great chances to leave the club due to his recent mistakes laughing at safety rules, the club itself is sportively healthy with two consecutive victories and a place in the middle of the ranking (10).

The remaining games will take place this Saturday and Sunday, and players will probably get used to the fact to play with no fans. If the competition should restart in Spain, Italy or England, some major European leagues, would it mean that countries which put an end to their leagues were wrong? Big money is pushing for a comeback.
