However, it lost contact six minutes later at 08:44 AM. The crash occured near the town of Bishoftu, some 60 km to the southeast of the capital, Addis Ababa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The plane involved in the accident was a Boeing 737 Max 8, the same model as Indonesia\u2019s Lion Air Flight JT610. Like ET 302, flight JT610 crashed minutes after takeoff, 12 minutes to be exact.
