{"id":187936,"date":"2022-05-15T13:14:29","date_gmt":"2022-05-15T17:14:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/africaglobalnews.com\/south-africa-president-in-engagement-with-durban-chamber-of-commerce-and-industry\/"},"modified":"2024-10-05T20:21:41","modified_gmt":"2024-10-05T20:21:41","slug":"south-africa-president-in-engagement-with-durban-chamber-of-commerce-and-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/africaglobalnews.com\/website_b1ce9d46\/south-africa-president-in-engagement-with-durban-chamber-of-commerce-and-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"South Africa: President in Engagement with Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>The meeting takes place in response to the Chamber\u2019s request to meet with the President to discuss a number of identified challenges that are impacting the business community in the province<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Cyril Ramaphosa is leading government\u2019s engagement with the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry in eThekwini this on morning, Sunday, 15 May 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting takes place in response to the Chamber\u2019s request to meet with the President to discuss a number of identified challenges that are impacting the business community in the province.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The meeting has been requested through the Office of the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Mr Sihle Zikalala, and follows a meeting between the Premier and the Mayor of eThekwini and the KZN Growth Coalition and the Durban Chamber of Commerce on 29 April 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\" id=\"press-quote\"><p>Today\u2019s meeting is a platform for collaboration among the three spheres of government and the private sector to develop a plan of action<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Today\u2019s meeting is a platform for collaboration among the three spheres of government and the private sector to develop a plan of action which will enable the KwaZulu-Natal <a href=\"https:\/\/allafrica.com\/stories\/202205170169.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">business sector<\/a> to recover from events that have adversely affected the provincial economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministers of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs; Water and Sanitation; Safety and Security; Public Enterprises; Environmental Affairs; Public Works and Infrastructure; Transport and the Deputy Ministers of Police and Justice are part of the meeting to engage the business leaders on issues of concern to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Ramaphosa will deliver closing remarks around 11h10.
