Of these, 4,500 have submitted requests for political asylum and have been awaiting a decision for many years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-5506089157017573\" data-ad-slot=\"1517254432\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>Some 1,600 of the Sudanese have been recognized as coming from Darfur, and another 300 as originating from the Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile regions, also known regions of conflict. There are many others who originate from these areas but they aren\u2019t recognized as such because they have never been called in for interviews to determine their place of original residence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/africaglobalnews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/Sudanese-1.jpg?w=696&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Sudanese\" class=\"wp-image-127364\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have a lot of family in Darfur,\u201d said Faisal Sadiq Adam, a car mechanic who\u2019s lived in Israel for 12 years. \u201cPeople (in Darfur) are being killed and wounded\u2026 You can\u2019t say it\u2019s not dangerous there, there\u2019s still murder every day. My grandfather and five uncles were killed; my mother told me when I was 16 to flee so at least I\u2019d be saved. Israelis don\u2019t listen to our stories, but we were fleeing from real danger.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are living here without residential status, which means they can undermine in one blow all our security in life and everything we\u2019re trying to build,\u201d said Adam, another <a href=\"https:\/\/africaglobalnews.com\/macdella-cooper-from-a-refugee-to-an-inspirational-role-model\/\">refugee<\/a> from Sudan who has three children and has been living in Tel Aviv since 2012.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-5506089157017573\" data-ad-slot=\"1517254432\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThink of yourselves, you live in a certain city, your kids are in school, you have work, but you always have the fear that one day some politician will want to get more votes at your expense and will send you and your children to a dangerous country and everything you try to build will be destroyed.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sudanese nationals are not currently being repatriated to their native land, but not because Israel recognizes Sudan as a country in crisis but because of the lack of diplomatic relations between the State of Israel and the Republic of <a href=\"https:\/\/africaglobalnews.com\/cash-strapped-sudan-faces-new-u-s-demands-before-painful-sanctions-are-lifted\/\">Sudan<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\" data-ad-layout=\"in-article\" data-ad-format=\"fluid\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-5506089157017573\" data-ad-slot=\"1517254432\"><\/ins>\n<script>\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n<\/script>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unhcr.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">The UN High Commissioner for Refugees<\/a> in Israel stressed to the newspaper Haaretz that even if there\u2019s a change in the relations between the two countries, it would not allow forced deportations to Sudan, but only voluntary return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.africaglobalnews.com\">Africa Global News Publication<\/a><\/em> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Lisa Vives Sudanese refugees who live in Israel are wondering what their future holds if ties are normalized between the two countries as predicted and the Israeli government launches deportation proceedings against them.
